.reapeak files all over the place ..

Dear Reapers, I noticed that when i am auditioning samples in the Media Explorer in Reaper, from my dedicated Sample Drive, Reaper creates .reapeak files for those samples and now my sample folders become cluttered with these files. Is there some way that i can avoid this ? Best, Rob.

There is also an option in REAPER to disable peak files entirely and to keep their equivalents totally in RAM. If you have enough RAM, waveform redraws are a bit faster and you'll never see the peak files again and don't need to route them anywhere. Unfortunately, I can't remember what the option is called nor which page of the REAPER preferences it is on. So you'll have to browse through all of them. What I do remember is that it's an "Advanced" option. So you won't see it just by glancing. It's in a pop-up window that you can only see if you click an "Advanced Options" type of button within another page of the preferences. Good luck, and it's probably not safe to change anything else in the Advanced settings. So be careful.
