mpeg2 video + mpeg1 layer II audio - no reencode video?

MessageAuthor

Guys, I got a strange question. It it possible, like in Virtual Dub for the AVI contained, grab a mpeg2 movie and just replace it's audio, so the video don't need to be re-encoded and therefore did not lost quality at all? Theoreticaly, well, it should be possible, huh? ;) :p However my Virtual Dub Mod 1.5.4.1 build 2066 refuse to save anything else that AVI or OGM or MKV... :o It is possible with new version, or something like this is impossible in general?

E-Male - Bink codecs files are named as *.bik files (at least on winblows) :) Krismen - that sounds bad. Time to ask them for feature :) Their page is all about boasting how good their codec is, however there is no simple DX show filter for it, so one could play these files with BSplayer or such...? :( Could this be true, or I overlooked something - or it is just not on the page?

And could you point me to the download location for such file? :) I did not find much... And yep, I managed to find the MediaPlayer classic, however just up to 6.4.7.5 :scared: Damned RAD company asked the poor autor for two licences in 8000$ worth! They are must be insane. One should be happy that user can play their video, but no - they create a obstacles  Damn suxxkas. Anyway, I played the Battlefield 2 videos with the MPlayerClassic and repeat was only a black screen, it need the binkw32.dll into progdir of MPlayerClas - luckily, dll-files.com have it ( ) and either MPlayerClas did not play the sounds in bik files, or the Battlefield 2 videos are w/o sound and sound play the engine of the game, witch I somewhat dubt... The main reason why I care is, that these are TOO LOUD and did NOT respecting my audio settings. I have volume mostly a lot up, and into applications I have tamed the volume down, so... ...so imagine the serious shock when I run the game second time and the volume ain't working and the loudnest of the sound is, well, overhelming... :(

Ah, using the latest binkw32.dll file that come with Battlefield2 instead give my great playback of FarCry and BF2 bink videos! :p Outstanding! A big thanks to the autor of MplayerClassic and shame on RadTools for limiting the support for their format!
