3D Blu-ray Disc Profile 5 Question

MessageAuthor

Earlier today somebody directed me to . Which suggests that the maximum allowable data rate for 3D Blu-ray disc's using Profile 5 is 72 Mbps (up from 48 Mbps for BD-Live players). Is this "profile" along with its increased data-rate actually being used now on store-bought 3D blu-ray discs? Cheers

RE: 3D Blu-ray Disc Profile 5 Question

72 Mbps is peak rate and not average rate. Avatar feature SSIF for example is 48.125.706.240 bytes and 9702 seconds long. So average rate is 39.683.122 bps. Peak rate may be much higher.
