I've tried all the algorithms, optimise for tonal content and adjusted fade times. No dice. I've been making the same adjustments in Cubase and they sound fine
The stretch markers in Reap are certainly not perfect. If they're clicking and glitching on me (depends on the material and also the mix - whether they're noticeable) I just go back to splitting and stretching each part of the audio file - you can crossfade them to avoid the glitches.
It's not that. There's definitely either a bug in the latest Elastique or in reaper as this didn't use to happen and then I remember Justin trying to find workarounds using crossfades etc. I run into this issue too occasionally and one thing to make sure is that you have not got the tracks with the stretched items on them selected as that stops the tracks from buffering properly. I find this mostly happens when going from (or to) "0" semitones as I think reaper stops processing elastique pro at that point. A work around is to force the pitch to go slightly above 0 so it becomes active. I really hope this gets sorted out. :)
I get it very clearly when I'm testing script-generated SMs on renders of click-tracks a "tick" on one side of a SM can get repeated the other side, giving a double transient. This is a technical bug found when using "Preserve pitch..." only, as the source-sample placement should be at its most accurate at a SM boundary. >
Optimise for Tonal content and work with highest xfade. For bigger correction of the markers bigger xfades. I also think that strechmarker doesn't work so good.
