Damn Stretch Marks glitching

In most other DAWs embedded bpm media is fitted to a tempo map with undetectable transitions at tempo changes but Reaper 6 is just using stretch markers that give a big glitch or pop where the transition changes are:

I put them in using these priorities: 1 - silent area 2 - quiet area before a transient 3 - on a zero crossing 4 - if none of the above are possible, I split the item to isolate the note and slide + crossfade The only time I can't find a zero crossing is in multichannel items, so I rarely have to use #4. That minimizes glitches for me A sidebar to be ignored: my wife said vitamin E oil is good for stretch marks.

Smooth & Jerky Media import: properly adjust length of imported media with embedded tempo and make jerky where crossing project tempo changes
