edit/ play cursor?

Don't think you can lock a play start position unless you set a marker there and jump to that. (hit ? for the action list to set shortcuts) I have a key mapped to the action 'move edit cursor back one beat' (also forward), which when held down works as a rewind button. This will also work when in item editor if you set the key to the action 'Misc: Pass through key to main window' there. Works well enough for me that way.

Thanks V'ger, Yeah markers are easy but I still have to push the button, which is fine - forgetting to push it and starting play in the wrong spot is a bit of a flow disrupter... Would anyone else like to be able to lock the play start position independently from the edit cursor?

You might experiment with the settings under Options>Prefs>Editing Behavior. There are some settings there you might try changing, such as "move edit cursor when clicking media items" and maybe under Prefs>Audio>Playback>Playback Settings, the checkboxes under "Seek playback when clicked". Not sure if this is exactly what you want, but maybe it'd help a little. Lewis

I have searched around and experimented with those preferences, I haven't really found anything that solves it for me, although it's entirely possible that I've missed something. There was a very involved discussion about these preferences in the pre release area. I've just posted a FR regarding this, maybe you guys would like to check it out and add your input? Thanks.
