Starting out...

New to DUC, please bear with me...Can't seem to get the Wavedriver to work with my system, Mbox, XP, ASIO disabled, PT works fine but only with headphones. Device manager shows that the driver is installed but no sound. I only want to use my PC speakers until my monitors show up. ANY help is greatly appreciated, using headphones is driving me nuts. 1) The Wavedriver will NOT make PT play through your PC speakers. It simply allows you to play Windows sounds through your MBox. 2) PT not only plays through your MBox headphone jacks, but also through the Line Outs on the back of the MBox. This is true also of the Windows sounds that are sent to the MBox via the Wavedriver. If you want to use your PC speakers you can do one of two things. 1) Connect your amplified speakers to the MBox's Line Outs, or 2) Connect the MBox's line outs to your PC's soundcard's inputs. Either way your sounds will come out of the PC speakers, whether running PT, or playing Windows sounds through the Wavedriver. You'll probably need adaptor cables to accomplish either since most PC soundcards use a 1/8" mini stereo plug and the MBox uses two mono 1/4" output jacks. Same is true in reverse for going from the MBox to the soundcard. I hope this helps. Mike
