won\'t launch on one user account, will on another

The only other possibility is that it's some other file located inside the Users>your account folder, most likely something in the Library folder. You would have to try to determine which file it is - again, a laborious process. Is there some reason why you can't just migrate everything to the new account? Seems that should be quicker and easier than the other method.
