South African spec?

MessageAuthor

Hi, Calling the real 164 experts! Just curious: is the bumper on this 164 a different, South African spec item or a non-original fitment? Link to full size picture: John

Looks to me like the rear bumper guards that were an option have been mounted on top of the front bumper (instead of below the rear one as intended). Front bumper guards is much bigger (and stretches both above and below the bumper).

RE: South African spec?

Hi, I have a 164 1970 imported from South Africa in the eighties, and it has exactly the same chromed front bumper. So I guess it must be a standard feature in SA. Cheers, Laurent
