ProTools LE 6.1 on beige G3/466 MT AV?

beige G3/466 MT AV, OS 9.22, 384 MB ram I run PT LE 5.21 on my Mac under OS9.22 just fine, using OMS for MIDI communication with my two MTPII's. Question: if I buy a new HD & put OSX on one partition can I run ProTools LE 6.1 with my 2 serial MIDI Timepice II's. I have no USB on my Mac & no PCI slots available either as my 3 PCI slots are full. Respond to me also at:

Even a B & W G3 won't run protools LE 6.1. You need the minimum of a G4 I'm affraid, this is down to the graphics system AFAIK. Blame apple for finally making an OS as bloated and resource hungry as we've all accused windows of being for years. I'm pissed off about this myself, I've got a fairly slow beige G3. with 800Mhz G3 upgrades going for such a small sum, it bugs me that a used G4 or one of the brand new dual bootable 1.25 or dual 1.25Ghz G4s from the apple store is the only option.

I don't know where you got that info from but I am able to run 6.1.2 on my B+W G3 w/ 500Mhz and 620MB RAM. I have removed the Cheetah 10K drive from the setup and now just run with 2 internal drives and 2 external FW drives(I had to install a PCI FW card to alleviate my FW drive corruption issues since using OS 10.2.3) I have a second video card to utilize 2 monitors and I am running a Digi001. I don't get the track count that I get in OS9.2.2 but it's nice to be able to use PT in OSX without booting back and forth to just record tracks. I see the limit to my system when I am running anything virtual and/or Rewired apps. I'm tempted to get the Powerlogix G3 900Mhz ZIF upgrade since all I need is more processor balls ;-) I want to upgrade to a G5 sooner or later but right now, my setup works for me.
